Cameron Jefferies has a B.Sc. degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta (Canada), an LLB (law degree) also from the University of Alberta, and is expecting to receive a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Virginia School of Law in May, 2011. Cameron has published in the area of whale conservation, and is not only familiar with the biological impacts of shark finning, he is also very knowledgeable about the laws that govern our relationship with the natural environment. A unique passion for sharks and familiarity with the legislative process also makes Cameron uniquely qualified to spearhead this initiative.
Stacee Karras received a B.A. and an M.A. in marine affairs and policy from the University of Miami. More specifically, her graduate work was done at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. In August, she will begin her third year of law school at the University of Virginia School of Law, where her focus has been on environmental law. She is passionate about the marine environment and has demonstrated a longstanding interest in the policies that govern it.
Together we are committed to improving the situation for sharks in Virginia and around the world. We hope that you will explore our blog and also become interested in protecting sharks and our initiative.
